Improve posture to improve the self-healing process of the body. Self-healing is holistic healing, which is the process by which an individual’s health is restored in the most natural way without the use of conventional medicine throughout the entire healing process. The human body is equipped with natural resources that enable not only the enhancement of health but also the recuperation from any type of disease or illness through the self-healing process.
Self-healing is self-induced in that it works through the mind and the body. For self-healing to take place, the mind must express the intent to heal, without which there is no cure or natural healing. The intent to heal is then manifested in focus, which directs the mind towards ther goal of self-healing. In other words, the mind creates actions for natural healing. One of the actions to take is to improve posture.
Why is it necessary to improve posture? Body posture holds the key to good health and self-healing.
If you have good posture, you have good body balance, which prevents falling—one of the most common causes of frailty in the elderly. Improve posture to improve body balance to prevent falling, which is due to weak body muscles, often aggravated and perpetuated by incorrect posture. Frailty causes fear, which results in immobility, and thus forming a vicious circle of poor posture. The emotional and psychological trauma can adversely affect the self-healing process in an individual.
Another good reason to improve posture is to avoid debilitating back pain, neck pain, leg pain, and even headaches, which often interfere with the self-healing process. Due to poor body posture, all the muscle groups supporting the crooked spine become stretched and strained, causing wear and tear, resulting in lower back pain. In addition, an arched lower back exerts undue pressure on the joints and nerves, causing joint pain and rheumatism. In short, many physical ailments are due to poor posture. Therefore, it is important to improve posture to give the body an optimum environment for self-healing and recovery.
The most important reason to improve posture is to enhance breathing. Healthy breathing not only provides ample oxygen to the lungs for long-term health, but also nourishes, in the form of “qi” (internal vital life energy), different parts of the body for maximum rejuvenation and self-healing. Good posture contributes to breathing right. Incidentally, rodents, with the shortest breaths in the animal kingdom, also have the shortest lifespan. Therefore, breathing correctly is an important component of health and wellness. Improve posture to improve breathing.
